Ajayi leads Boise State to easy win over Pack

Boise State running back Jay Ajayi ran for a career-high 222 yards on 24 carries with three touchdowns to lead the Broncos to a 34-17 win over Nevada in Boise on Saturday.

Backup quarterback Grant Hedrick threw for 150 yards and ran for 115 more.

Boise State (5-2, 3-1 Mountain West) won its eighth straight game at home against the Wolf Pack (3-4, 2-2).

BYU 47, Houston 46: Taysom Hill hit Cameron Ridley for an 11-yard TD pass and the Cougars (5-2) held off the Cougars (5-1) in Houston.

Toledo 45, Navy 44 (2OT): Toledo’s Terrance Owens tossed a 20-yard TD pass in the second overtime and Jeremiah Detmer kicked the extra point to give the Rockets (4-3) a victory over the Midshipmen (3-3) in Toledo, Ohio.

The winning play came after Navy’s Geoffery Whiteside scored on a 9-yard run to give Navy a 44-38 lead. But Navy missed the PAT.

Temple 33, Army 14: Freshman QB P.J. Walker threw a pair of TD passes in his second start and Matt Rhule won his first game as coach of the Owls (1-6), beating the Black Knights (3-5) in Philadelphia.

Minnesota 20, Northwestern 17: Ailing head coach Jerry Kill watched from a private box as the Golden Gophers (5-2, 1-2 Big Ten) turned two second-half turnovers into scores en route to a victory over the Wildcats (4-3, 0-3) in Evanston, Ill.
