Buffs win with Liufau

BOULDER, Colo. – Quarterback Sefo Liufau won his first career start Saturday thanks to fellow freshman Michael Adkins’ four touchdown runs in Colorado’s 43-10 rout of lower-tier Charleston Southern (7-1) in a rare mid-October breather for the Buffaloes.

Adkins set the school freshman record with his four TDs, capped by a 34-yarder with 6 minutes left. He finished with 137 yards on 13 carries.

Liufau completed 14 of 20 passes for 198 yards. He connected with Paul Richardson eight times for 122 yards as the Buffaloes (3-3) snapped a three-game skid in which they’d been walloped by a combined 106 points.
