Obituary: Slackman, Albert
Age 98
Albert was born on August 29, 1915, on the family homestead five miles north of Lind, Washington to Gottlieb and Lydia (Birkholz) Sackmann.
He was one of 18 children.
He attended the rural Miller School for eight years.
He married Elsie Wahl on October 27, 1940, and they farmed west of Lind until moving to Lind in 1984.
Albert was an active member of the Lind Zion Congregational Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elsie, in 2005; infant son, Larry; 11 sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by his son, Warren (Carol) Sackmann; brother, Emil (Janet) Sackmann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, October 28, 2013 from 12 noon to 5:00 PM at Danekas Funeral Home-Ritzville.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Lind Community Church, immediately followed by a reception at the church.
A private interment will be at Lind Cemetery.
