McKoy breaks all-division rushing mark

Octavias McKoy ran for 455 yards, setting a new NCAA all-division record, as Division III Western Connecticut State beat Worcester State 55-35 on Saturday in Worcester, Mass.

McKoy scored five touchdowns in a game for the third time this season and broke the rushing record previously held by Dante Brown of Marietta College. Brown ran for 441 on Oct. 5, 1996 against Baldwin-Wallace.

Notre Dame 45, Air Force 10: Tommy Rees showed no signs of a strained neck that knocked him out a week ago, throwing a career-high five TD passes – to five different receivers – to lead the Fighting Irish (6-2) to a romp over the Falcons (1-7) in Air Force Academy, Colo.

Rees completed 17 of 22 passes for 284 yards as Notre Dame won its third straight. Rees has 54 career TD passes and moved past Ron Powlus for third place in team history.

Iowa 17, Northwestern 10 (OT): C.J. Fiedorowicz caught an 8-yard TD pass from Jake Rudock in overtime to give the Hawkeyes (5-3, 2-2 Big Ten) a win over the Wildcats (4-4, 0-4) in Iowa City, Iowa.

Houston 49, Rutgers 14: Freshman John O’Korn threw for career bests of 364 yards and five TDs and the Cougars (6-1, 3-0 American Athletic Conference) forced six turnovers in routing the Scarlet Knights (4-3, 1-3) in Piscataway, N.J.

Sophomore receiver Deontay Greenberry also had a career day for Houston, catching eight passes for 168 yards and three TDs.

Navy 24, Pittsburgh 21: A 30-yard field-goal by Nick Sloan as time expired gave the Midshipmen (4-3) a victory over the Panthers (4-3) in Annapolis, Md.

Pittsburgh’s Devin Street caught nine passes for 96 yards and a TD. Street now has a school-record 186 career receptions.

Ball State 42, Akron 24: Keith Wenning threw five TD passes, two to Willie Snead, to lead the Cardinals (8-1, 5-0 Mid-American Conference) past the Zips (2-7, 1-4) in Akron, Ohio.

North Dakota State 56, Indiana State 10: Brock Jensen threw four TD passes and Jordon Strangler returned two punts for scores as the FCS two-time defending-champion Bison (8-0, 5-0 Missouri Valley Conference) avenged their only loss last season by beating the Sycamores (1-7, 0-4) in Terre Haute, Ind.

UNLV 27, Nevada 22: Caleb Herring passed for 335 yards and three TDs to lead the Rebels (5-3, 3-1 MWC) past the Wolf Pack (3-5, 2-3) in Reno, Nev.

UNLV’s Tim Cornett ran for 122 yards and Devante Davis had eight catches for 121 yards.
