KUEHL, Klaus O.

(Age 81) Kuehl, Klaus O.

(81) passed away on October 8, 2013 in Spokane, Washington.

He was born in Fockbek, Germany on March 29, 1932.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 44 years Nadean (Mallow) Kuehl.

Klaus is survived by his children, JoAnna Kuehl of Glendale, CA, Julie (Chuck), Jens Kuehl (and Tom) of Spokane; four grandchildren; his longtime companion, Lorraine Schmeer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In 1952, Klaus left Germany and found his new home in America.

He enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War from 1954-1955.

On November 1, 1957 Nadean Mallow became his wife.

Klaus worked 27 years for the Spokane Fire Department.

To many, Klaus was known as a prankster.

He found joy in woodworking, watching boxing, and was an avid fisherman.

He was skilled at bird hunting, raising pheasants, and training many bird dogs to hunt.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM at the Spangle Cemetery on Friday, November 1, 2013.

A celebration of life will follow at the Spangle Service Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
