Obituary: Peterson, Christen Michele (Leblanc)

Age 27

PETERSON, Christen Michele (LeBlanc) (Age 27) On Oct 10, 2013 Christen Michele Peterson, 27, found peace again.

Christen was born on June 4, 1986 and was raised by her parents, Sean and Tiffany Peterson in Cheney WA.

Christen spent her early years attending Betz Elementary and Cheney Middle School before graduating from Cheney High School in 2004, where she was active as a varsity cheerleader.

Christen recently graduated from Spokane Falls Community College earning her AA degree and was accepted to Eastern Washington University.

Christen was living in Spokane WA, with her boyfriend, Ryan Swartz where they were planning their future together.

After years of struggling with a eating disorder, Christen is now in a place where she can realize what the rest of us always knew; her beauty on the outside already matched her beauty on the inside.

While she faced her own struggles Christen still managed to touch the lives of so many people she met by accepting everyone unconditionally…faults and all.

We want to thank those people that made us realize how special our beautiful Christen was by supporting her and us through the years…Lisa, Robin, Kelli, Scott, Nonie, Jack, Mercy Sisters, NY sisters, Friends from CHS and so many others Christen is survived by her parents Tiffany Peterson (John) and Sean Peterson (Stephanie) her brother Andrew and sisters Jordan, Peyton, Rylee, Makayla and Devin.

Her grandmothers Vicki Ratcliff (Nana) and Elizabeth Peterson (Gramma Liz), her aunt Bridget Doran, uncles Chris Ratcliff (Miki) and Barry Peterson (Yvonne) and by her rock, and love of her life Ryan Swartz.

Christen was preceded in death by her Papa, Michel Ratcliff and Great-grandma, Virginia Doran.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations are made to the GoFundMe.com/4trr8s or to Mercy Ministries to support those still in the lifelong struggle to overcome eating disorders.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, at the Cheney Church of the Nazarene, 338 W. Betz Rd Cheney, WA, followed by a potluck dinner at the church to celebrate Christen’s life.
