Eagles lose in four sets
Eastern Washington rallied for a third-set win but couldn’t maintain the momentum and dropped a Big Sky Conference volleyball match to visiting Portland State on Monday night in Cheney.
After losing the first two sets, 25-22, 25-16, the Eagles (7-16, 4-8 BSC) pulled out a 25-20 victory only to see the Pilots (12-10, 9-3) roll 25-11 in the fourth set.
Junior Kelsey Julian led Eastern with 12 kills, hitting .423 with 26 attacks and only one error. She also added six digs and four blocks.
Lindsay Niemeier had her fourth double-double of the year with 23 assists and 10 digs.
Kaeli Patton led PSU with 12 kills and the Pilots outhit the Eagles .239-.149.
