Sheriff’s Office tracking man exhibiting ‘concerning’ behavior
Deputies documenting man’s actions since 1997
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office has been keeping tabs since 1997 on a 55-year-old white man who exhibits behavior “concerning to law enforcement.”
The man has approached numerous children throughout the county over the years, a news release from the sheriff said. He talks to the children while they are walking down the street, telling the girls how pretty they are and asking the boys if they can help him find his dog.
At this point, the man’s actions have not risen to the level of a crime. However, the Sheriff’s Office wanted to inform the community that it is aware of this man’s activity and is documenting the events. The man is bald and drives a mid-1990s Subaru station wagon.
With Halloween approaching, the Sheriff’s Office wants to emphasize the importance of parents warning their children about talking to strangers.
Anyone who has any interaction with a person displaying this type of behavior should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
