Bill was born in Spokane on October 26, 1944 to Ronald and Bernice (Henry) Tyvan, and was a graduate of Shadle Park H.S., class of 1963.
He married Janice VanderBurgh in 1964.
Bill spent many years working for the Railroard before retiring early to return to Spokane.
Bill was a proud father of four children.
He was known for his wit and sense of humor, and always good for a joke to lighten any atmosphere.
He loved playing cards and also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors (especially during hunting season with his sons).
In the last few years, email was his main source of communication, and you could always count on Bill to send an email with an inspiring story, quote, picture, joke or favorite recipe.
He is survived by his children Todd, Becky (Scott Tyson), Tim (Aimee), and Beth Palmer; his siblings Diane (Doug Ward) and Dave Tyvan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and 11 grandchildren.
Family and friends will share in his life this Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt at 1:00 pm.
A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bill Tyvan, to Providence St. Joseph Care Center, 17 E. 8th Ave. Spokane, WA 99202.
