Sirene Blair finished with a 6-under-par 138 to earn medalist honors and lead San Diego State to the team title Tuesday at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown women’s golf tournament at Stallion Mountain Golf Club.
San Diego State (570) beat runners-up UNLV, Central Florida and Texas Tech by two strokes in the two-round event. Central Florida’s Ashley Holder finished second, two strokes behind Blair.
The Idaho Vandals were last in the 17-team tourney. Kristin Strankman led the Vandals with an 8-over 152 total tying her for 51st place. Teammate Kaitlyn Oster carded a 153 and tied for 58th. Leilanie Kim and Amy Hasenoehrl shot 154s.
