Obituary: Ammann, John G.

AMMANN, John G. Dad was born and raised in Richardton, North Dakota where he served at the Assumption Abbey.

He joined the US Army during WWII.

He was honorably discharged and received the victory metal.

After the war, dad moved to Spokane, Washington where he lived until his death.

He married and had nine children.

Dad worked at St. Aloysius (his home church) where his love of Gonzaga was formed.

Dad was known by everyone as being one of the biggest Zag fans.

He also loved golf and could be found at the golf course or chipping balls in the back yard over the garage and into the neighbor’s yard.

Dad is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters; ex-wife; and five children.

He is survived by four children, John P. Ammann (Wendy) of Millwood, WA, Barbara J. Koshar (Tom) of Redmond, WA, Evelyn J. Boardman (Joe) of Colbert, WA, and Gloria K. Bilesky (Ken) of Spokane, WA; ten grandchildren: Sara, Renae, Alex, Joshua, Nicole, Stefan, Jessica, Jeremy, Ryan and Brittney; ten great-grandchildren; significant other, Mary Gunn of Spokane, WA; two brothers, Joe and Al; and long-time family friend, Rosie Nelson.

A Viewing will be held from 12 PM - 7 PM, Friday, November 1st at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home (2203 N. Division), followed by a Rosary at 7 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 5th at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Interment to directly follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
