Floyd helps make WSU great

It was so refreshing to read the article in the Aug. 27 Spokesman-Review about Elson Floyd, president of Washington State University. I had a positive experience with him.

After last year’s Apple Cup victory, my family and I were walking under the southside grandstand toward the CUB. As I was walking I looked up and saw Floyd among the crowd. As we passed each other, he stopped, shook my hand and said, “What a great game!” I agreed with him. Afterward, I thought “What a nice gesture for him to acknowledge a longtime fan and a stranger to him.” That is why WSU is such a great university, because of men like him.

Thank you, President Floyd.
