Obituary: Hamilton, Duane H.

HAMILTON, Duane H. (Age 90) Passed away at home with his caregiver, Sharon Reed by his side.

Duane was born in Circle, Montana on September 23, 1922.

He graduated from Polson High School.

Duane served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII as an Airborne Radar Technician and Operator.

He was a shipmate on both the USS Point Cruz and USS Rendova.

He graduated with his BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950 while attending Montana State College.

During the Korean War Duane served as an Operator and Technician for land-based radar equipment.

Duane retired from Bonneville Power Administration in 1986.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Nesbitt Hamilton and Grace Mae Burvee, his brother Ray Hamilton and his sisters Avis Adams and Agnes Christopherson.

He is survived by his two nieces: Karen Christopherson and Janis Straley; his nephew Duane Adams; and his cousin Tamara Lammers.

He is also survived by his longtime friend Dyanne Reed, her husband Curtis Reed and their children Justin and Miranda; as well as his caregiver and close friend Sharon Reed.

There will be a Graveside Service held with military honors at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224 at 3:30 pm on Monday, September 9, 2013.

Please plan to meet at the entrance to the park at 3pm and then follow the lead car to the Arlington West Section of the Park.
