Obituary: Strick, Mabel “Ali”

STRICK, Mabel “Ali” (Age 79) Mabel “Ali” Strick graced this world on January 30, 1934, born to Mary Ann and Perry Tweedy.

She attended Lewis & Clark High School.

Then she met the love of her life at a bakery and they were married six weeks later.

They were married for 53 years until he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her son Eddie.

She is survived by son Howard (Carol) of Yelm; and daughter Karen (Terry) Torkelson of Spokane.

She leaves a legacy of five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She had two sisters and four brothers and is also survived by Ron Tweedy and Charles Tweedy.

She and her husband successfully ran Strick’s Donuts for 45 years year until their retirement.

From there Mabel worked at Group Health for many years.

She was a member of Spokane First Church of the Nazarene.

Mabel had many interests but her main interest was her family and she gave us her all.

She touched so many lives with her compassion, love and grace.

She loved everyone she met and everyone that met her loved her.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Roy, Pam and Matt Henley for their kindness and generosity towards their neighbor, their friend, our mom.
