Mt. Spokane QB Stu Stiles suspended for two games
After missing the majority of the past two seasons because of season-ending collarbone injuries, Mt. Spokane senior quarterback Stu Stiles must sit out the first two games of the season.
Stiles was suspended Tuesday after he self-reported an athletic code violation.
“Alcohol was at the place I was at,” Stiles said. “I wasn’t participating. I was in the wrong place at the (wrong) time.”
Stiles avoided a more severe suspension – including a season-ending suspension – by reporting the violation to athletic director Paul Kautzman.
“I made a mistake and I’m paying for it,” Stiles said. “I broke a team policy, a team rule and that won’t be tolerated, and I knew that ahead of time.”
