He was born October 10, 1947 in Potlatch, ID and spent most of his life in the Spokane area.
He attended Central Valley High School and was a decorated combat veteran, serving in the US Army in Vietnam.
Over the years he worked as a salesman in industrial welding and fabrication.
Gerald is survived by his daughter, Necole Flerchinger and her husband Luke of Spokane Valley; three grandchildren, Cole, Carter and Grace; two brothers and their families, Nick Buhl of Spokane, Robert Buhl of New Mexico.
Gerald shared a special relationship with his niece, Mindy Frey-Horn, who was instrumental in his care during his final illness.
Gerald is also survived by his former wife, Vicky Stehlar, and will be greatly missed by his many friends.
A committal service with military honors will be Friday, September 6, 2013 at 1:30pm at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA.
