Obituary: Parkison, Elaine

Age 92

PARKISON, Elaine In Loving Memory Passed away in Spokane, Washington on August 31, 2013 at the age of 92.

She was born in Hatton, Washington on March 2, 1921 the daughter of Logan and Molly (Lackey) Rice.

Elaine attended school at Rogers Bar where she completed the eighth grade.

After finishing school she spent most of the summers cooking meals for the wheat harvest crews.

On November 10, 1942, Elaine married William Parkison in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

At the time William was serving in the United States Air Force and they were relocated to the Pyote Air Force Base in Monahans, TX.

William and Elaine lived in Monahans until 1945 when they moved to Tonasket, WA.

During the next few years they made several short term moves and finally settled in Kettle Falls, WA in 1956.

In 1976 Elaine and William moved to Deer Park, WA and spent most of the next 27 years there until William passed away in 1993.

Soon after his passing, Elaine moved to Spokane, WA and lived there the remainder of her life.

Nothing meant more to Elaine then her family.

She was very concerned that their needs were always met before she pursued any personal hobbies.

She did enjoy sewing and knitting quilts, working in her vegetable garden, where she raised the best tomatoes and honing her dancing skills.

Elaine was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William and seven siblings.

Elaine is survived by her son, Gary Parkison and wife, Elner of Spokane, WA; grandchildren Robert Iseminger and Julie Iseminger of Spokane, WA great-grandchildren Jordan Iseminger, Haidyn Iseminger, Justice Iseminger, Miles Iseminger, Angeliki Iseminger; great-great grandchildren Jaidyn, Isabella, Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Elaine will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Danekas Funeral Chapel, Colville, WA with a graveside service to follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery.
