Obituary: Noder, Michael Joseph, Jr.

NODER, Michael Joseph, Jr. (Age 80) Son of Charlotte and Michael Joseph Noder Sr. was born in McNabb, Illinois.

He passed away on August 16, 2013 after a long illness and a home care center accident.

After graduating from high school at St. Bede Academy in Peru, Illinois, he enlisted in the Air Force and honorably served his country for 20 years.

While stationed at Lake Charles AFB he met and married Helen Marie Babineaux.

At the end of his military career, he continued his education at Eastern Washington University while employed as a counselor at Morning Star Boys Ranch in Spokane, Washington.

After receiving his teaching degree he taught for 20 years at local Catholic Schools, St Patrick’s, All Saints and Cataldo Middle School.

Among his many interest Mike enjoyed working with his son’s demolition (MoMike) company.

He loved watching sports and was an avid Eastern Washington Eagles and Gonzaga Buldogs fan.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Helen Noder; his four sons Michael Joseph III, Patrick Dean and wife Anne Noder, Victor Dwayne, Maurice Charles and wife Evelyn Noder; an older sister, Rosalie Noder, a retired Catholic Nun residing in Clinton, Iowa.

Mike has six grandchildren, Loraine Noder-Brown, husband Nick, Danielle Tellez and husband Edward, Angus Lee Noder, Ashley Yvonne Noder, Patrick Chandler Noder, Cassidy Mackenzie Noder, and three great-grandkids Jayden, Zoe and Aubrey.

He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father; his younger sister Francis Sanders and brother-in-law Delbert Sanders.

He is deeply missed by his family that looked up to him for guidance and unconditional love, and many friends for his warmth and sense of humor.

Memorial Services will be at 3 PM September 20, 2013 at the Eastern WA.

Veterans Cemetery: 21702 West Espanola Road.
