Education

 Gonzaga University has hired Joseph Kinsella as assistant academic vice president for the Center of Global Engagement, and has promoted Michelle Wheatley to director of University Ministry. Kinsella has worked in international education since 1988 and most recently served as associate vice president of international programs at DePaul University in Chicago. Wheatley has been with Gonzaga since 2007 and is the first laywoman to the hold the position at the university. She served previously as assistant director of the ministry office.

 Russell Pritchard has been hired as facilities project manager at Washington State University Spokane. Previously, he served as vice president/senior project manager at Hill International and has extensive experience in project and construction management.

Finance

 Spokane Teachers Credit Union has hired Susan Welberry as director of operational services, and has promoted Dan Hansen from senior communications officer to communications manager. Previously, Welberry worked as business services supervisor at WorkSource Spokane and as community development manager at Global Credit Union. Hansen has been with STCU since 2009.

 Farmers Insurance has hired Jan Krogh as a district trainer and John Butner as a district recruiter. Previously, Krogh was vice president and director of concierge services at RiverBank. Butner has 35 years of experience in business management and leadership.

Government

 The Pend Oreille Public Utility District has appointed Colin Willenbrock as in-house general counsel and hired Kim Gentle as enterprise risk manager. Previously, Willenbrock was with Winston & Cashatt. Gentle was with Clark Public Utilities in Vancouver, Wash.

Health care

 Janette Taylor and Cari Rodgers have joined Shriners Hospitals for Children. Taylor is a manager in respiratory therapy and previously was with United General Hospital in Sedro Woolley, Wash. Rodgers is a physician assistant and works part time with CHAS Spokane.

Hospitality

 The SpringHill Suites by Marriott has opened at 2250 W. Seltice Way in Coeur d’Alene.

Miscellaneous

 The Coeur d’Alene Place Homeowners Association and Oak Crest Park have been selected by Community Canopy to receive the Landscape of Excellence award. The awards recognize outstanding use and care of trees within landscaping.

Nonprofit

 Alan Lesher, the chief financial officer of the YMCA of the Inland Northwest, has been appointed to the board of trustees of 501(c) Agencies Trust. The board is a nationwide organization that serves more than 1,600 nonprofits.

Real estate

 Peggy O’Brien, Stacie Prasser and Kelly Correll have joined Keller Williams Realty Spokane. Previously, O’Brien owned a brokerage in Missoula, Prasser was with Traveler’s Insurance and Correll was in the construction business.
