Spokane County Interstate Fair – Today-Sept. 15. Live music, animals, exhibits, amusement rides, food. Fair hours are 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m. daily, closing at 8 p.m. the final day. Seniors get free admission on Monday; law enforcement, firefighters and military get free admission on Wednesday; children 17 and younger (accompanied by a paying adult) are admitted free with a youth pass from their local Safeway store on Thursday; Coats 4 Kids Drive – children age 13 and younger will be admitted free with the donation of a new or gently used coat. Springs of Hope Creamery Farm Tour - Springs of Hope Creamery is North Idaho’s only Grade A raw milk dairy. The tour will include hayrides and a barbecue lunch. Meet at Pilgrim’s Market, 1316 N. An Old Fashioned Sunday in Autumn - Antique tractors will be on display along with working scale model gas engines. Historical movies of farming on the Palouse will be shown and a “name the antique” contest is planned again this year. The annual apple pie baking contest will be judged by professional bakers with prizes for the winners. Visitors may purchase homemade ice cream along with the pie which will raise funds for operations at the Dahmen Barn. Enjoy live music by and an exhibit of quilts by the Palouse Patchers. New this year is a kids corner with fun activities for youngsters. The yard behind the wheel fence will be filled with artists and craftspeople demonstrating and selling what they create, and live alpacas will be on display along with items handmade from their fiber. Fresh, local produce will be available and the Uniontown Deli will have lunch items and drinks for sale. Local wines wrapped in local art will be the silent auction at this event. Resident artists will create containers in various mediums to envelope bottles of wine that have been donated by local wineries from the Moscow-Pullman area and the Lewis-Clark Valley. SCRAPS Walk in the Park - Walk in the Park is a pledge walk to support the SCRAPS Hope Foundation’s animal medical fund, which provides life-saving medical treatment, enrichment and care to homeless animals. Participants can register as an individual or as a group. All participants receive a special doggie bag and are eligible for prizes. Spokane Humane Society Booktober Book Sale - Oct. 5-6. Come and browse more than 20,000 gently used books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and other items for sale.
