The public is invited to a town hall meeting Wednesday to address veterans issues in the community.
The Governor’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee will host the meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Spokane Veterans Center, 13109 E. Mirabeau Parkway.
Representatives from the committee will discuss social programs for veterans, including Spokane Veterans Center Services, Homeless Veteran Services, Veterans Court, County Veterans Assistance Fund and Veteran Service Officer updates from the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center.
Suspect sought in store robbery
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies are seeking a man who robbed a Spokane Valley convenience store early Saturday morning.
At 5 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a man who had entered the 7-Eleven at North Park Road and East Broadway Avenue wearing black nylon over his face and a gray hooded sweatshirt, according to a news release. The man pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money.
The robber fled with cash and deputies tried to track him unsuccessfully, according to the release. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
