Javelinas run past Wildcats in opener
Matt Stoll’s 17-yard touchdown run with 6:48 remaining in the game carried the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas to a 21-14 win over the Central Washington Wildcats in a season opener in Ellensburg, Wash., on Saturday.
The Wildcats took an early 7-0 lead on Ridge Nielsen’s 51-yard interception-return score, but the Javelinas bounced back with Anthony Washington’s 60-yard TD run and a 15-yard scoring pass from Alex Rios to Robert Armstrong to take a 14-7 lead.
CWU tied the score in the second quarter on a 6-yard TD run by Jordan Todd.
