JONES, Eleanor Davis (Age 91) Our family matriarch, Eleanor Davis Jones was welcomed home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2013.

She was born January 23, 1922 in Walla Walla, the daughter of Robert L. Davis and Susan Ledbetter Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon Jones, brothers and sisters-in-law Robert Davis Jr. (Josephine), Warren Davis (Mary Jane), Sydney Davis, niece Nancy Crowe and nephews Robert (Buzz) Davis, Jeffrey Davis, and Warren (Kipp) Davis.

She is survived by her children, David Jones (Renee), Mukilteo; Diane (Rick) Thomas, Spokane; Roger (Laurie) Jones, Olympia; sisters-in-law Marie Corneil, Joanne Jones; grandchildren Kendra Grabowski, Krista Gilbert, Mitchell Thomas, Carly Jones, Daniel Jones, Kaylin Pratt, Adam Jones, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor grew up in Spokane and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and attended W.S.C.

What a beautiful spirit she possessed; all who met her became her friend and loved her!

We all called her our angel and some dubbed her St Eleanor - so kind, generous, caring, loving, faithful, a servants heart and a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.

The grandchildren looked forward to her home baked cookies!

She worked for many years for School District 81 at the Spokane Guild School, Logan Elementary and District 81 central office.

She was an active member and deacon at First Presbyterian Church and volunteered as church receptionist.

Serving others was a high priority, she was active in PEO, chapter Arizona, Spokane Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Visitor Information Center, and the Civic Theatre.

Our thanks, love and gratitude to the staff at Riverview Care Center for their outstanding care and support of her as her health declined.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, S. 318 Cedar, Spokane on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. Memorial gifts may be given to Big Brothers Big Sisters, 1802 Black Lake Blvd.
