Obituary: Moser, Richard A.

MOSER, Richard A. Richard “Dick” A. Moser passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 7 at the age of 82.

He was born March 12, 1931, to Tony and Ella Moser, and grew up in Colton, Washington before attending Washington State College and graduating in 1952.

While at Washington State he famously told his future wife, Beverly Mast, that he was “on the team,” implying he was on the football team.

He was actually on the livestock judging team, but that didn’t deter Bev, as they married in 1955, shortly after Dick returned from serving in the Korean War.

Dick enjoyed a long and successful career in banking and spent 31 years with Seattle First National Bank before retiring in 1988.

His banking career led him and his family throughout the state of Washington, with stops in Yakima, Seattle, Pullman, Walla Walla, and ultimately Spokane.

He loved to travel, having visited every state in America, and he also took trips to Europe and Australia.

And he loved to root for Washington State, where he held football and basketball season tickets for close to 50 years.

His faith, family, and Cougar athletics were top in his heart.

He is preceded in death by his son Doug, grandson Blake, and three brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife Beverly of 58 years, son Steve (Shannon), daughter Molly (Dan), four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, September 12 from 1-3 pm at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane, WA 99207.

A Vigil Service will be held Thursday, September 12 at 7pm, and Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, September 13 at 11am.

The Vigil Service and Funeral will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 1517 E. 33rd, Spokane, WA 99223.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Morning Star Boys Ranch or Immaculate Heart Retreat Center.
