Obituary: Norris, Kenneth J.

Age 72

NORRIS, Kenneth J.

Passed away Sunday, September 8th at Hospice House in Spokane.

He was born in Seattle July 9, 1941 to E. Marcella and Dr. Kenneth E. Norris.

Ken spent his youth in Illinois.

He moved to Washington in 1972 and later to Spokane in 1977.

He earned an Education degree from EWU and a graduate degree from Whitworth College.

Ken was a Funeral Director/Embalmer from 1964 to 1976.

He then became Director of the House of Charity in Spokane.

After earning his education degrees, he taught from 1980 to 1991.

Northwest Stained Glass then took up the next twenty-one years of his life.

During his years in Spokane he served on the boards of Healing the Children, Candle Lighters and the Spokane Aids Network.

His home and yards reflected his green thumb and the many stained glass objects he created over the years were a testament to his creative talent.

Ken is survived by his three daughters, Susan (Paul) Resnic, Kathleen Anson and Charlotte (Marcie) Norris; his four grandchildren, Brittney and Andrew Brockmueller and Miles and Molly Anson, and one great-grandson, Owen Brockmueller; his ex-wife and close special friend, Martha Nerpel; and his sister, Sally (Stanley) Floyd.

In addition his faithful cat, Tittermouse, survives.

He was preceded in death by his infant son and parents.

A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral on Saturday, September 14 at 10 a.m.

He will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, IL.
