Legend ties the knot with model in Italy

John Legend is officially off the market.

The R&B crooner’s representative said Legend married model Chrissy Teigen on Saturday at the Villa Pizzo in Lake Como, Italy.

Legend, 34, and Teigen, 27, were engaged in 2011.

Legend has won nine Grammy Awards. He released his fourth solo album, “Love in the Future,” last week.

Teigen has modeled for Sports Illustrated and is the host of the VH1 reality competition show “Model Employee.” She also has a food blog.

Legend will launch a U.S. tour next month.

NBA’s Odom charged with DUI

Basketball star Lamar Odom has been charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence, nearly two weeks after his Mercedes-Benz was pulled over on a Southern California freeway.

The Los Angeles city attorney’s office said Friday that the charges stem from Odom’s Aug. 30 arrest in the San Fernando Valley.

The husband of reality TV star Khloe Kardashian was taken into custody after a sobriety test.

The California Highway Patrol said Odom’s car was observed traveling in a “serpentine manner.”

Odom, 33, could face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.

After spending the 2012 season with the Dallas Mavericks, Odom returned to the Los Angeles Clippers last year. He is now a free agent.

Deen gets standing O on return

Celebrity cook Paula Deen fought back tears as she was greeted by a supportive crowd during an appearance at a Houston cooking show.

Saturday’s event was Deen’s first public appearance since June, when it was revealed that in an earlier legal deposition she acknowledged using racial slurs in the past. Within a few days, the Food Network yanked her show off the air, Smithfield Foods dropped her as a celebrity endorser and retailers such as Wal-Mart removed her products from shelves.

The Houston Chronicle reported about 1,500 people gave Deen a standing ovation Saturday when she appeared at the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show. She told them their hearts were “as big as your state.”

Deen held two cooking demonstrations, including tips on how to make peanut butter pie.
