Obituary: King, Ruth Lassen

KING, Ruth Lassen (Age 95) Ruth was born to Valdemar and Alice Schroeder Lassen, in Juneau, Alaska.

Her parents spent their youth in Glengary and Sandpoint, but eventually settled in Van Nuys, California, where Ruth married, Leslie C. King.

She taught English at Madison Jr. High and Los Angeles Valley Community College, where she devloped a class on “Mythology.”

After retiring, Ruth and Les spent many summers in Sagle, Idaho, managing the family property and making lifelong friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Les; her brother Herbert, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Holly B.

King and son-in-law, John Gryszkowiec, of Loveland, Ohio; her son, David L. King and daughter-in-law, Carole King, of Richland WA; grandsons, Jeffrey King and wife, Kazuko King and their children, Karen and Jun of Geneva, Switzerland; grandsons, Justin King of Kennewick, Washington, and Andrew King of Richland, Washington.

Friends are invited to join Ruth’s family for a memorial service at the Sagle family property in August, 2014.
