Obituary: Labes, Inga Freia (Overlie)
Age 101
She went to her heavenly home on September 6, 2013 at Guardian Angel Homes in Liberty Lake, Washington.
She celebrated her 101st birthday in July.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Frank Davis and Edward Labes, parents Erland and Marit Overlie, sister Ragna Beck and brothers Bjarne, Edward and Theodore Overlie.
She is survived by her brother Pete (Richland, WA); son, Carl Davis and wife Evelyn (Savannah, GA), daughter, Mary Ann Klemmer (Liberty Lake, WA); granddaughters, Lisa Kelly and husband Doug (Spokane Valley, WA), Julie Giger and husband Terry (St. Jacobs, IL); great-grandchildren James Davis and wife Deborah, (Raleigh, NC), Kirsten Poldervart and husband Codey (Oceanside, CA), Kevin Kelly (Spokane Valley, WA), Donald and Callie Fuhrhop (St. Jacobs, IL.
), and numerous nephews and nieces.
She graduated from Pasco High School in 1930.
She then worked at Columbia Hardware as a bookkeeper.
She was married on May 19, 1934 in Prosser, Washington to Frank Davis.
They lived in Pasco where Frank was employed by the Northern Pacific RR.
Their two children, Carl John and Mary Ann were born there.
In January of 1941 they moved to Dayton, Washington and to Lind, Washington in June of 1949 where Frank was a section foreman on the Northern Pacific Railroad.
Frank passed away April 20, 1951.
On August 3, 1956 Inga married Edward A. Labes.
Eddie passed away October 25, 1999.
She lived in Lind, Washington until December of 2009 when she went to live with her daughter Mary Ann in Liberty Lake.
She moved to Guardian Angel in June 2013.
Inga started work in 1951 in the office at Krehbiel Motor Service in Lind.
She continued to work there when it was purchased by Bill Loomis and became Loomis Truck and Tractor.
Inga and Ed had purchased a camper and enjoyed camping in the mountains.
They spent many weekends, when they were still working, camping in the Tucannon area of the Blue Mountains.
After retirement, they made many excursions to national parks in the western United States.
Inga was a most loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.
She was noted for her cinnamon rolls, cookies and homemade bread.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and crocheting.
Each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have beautiful afghans, a product of her talent.
One of her biggest joys in later life was listening to her great-grandson, Kevin, play the piano.
A celebration of her life will be held at Good Hope Lutheran Church 120 W. Third, Lind, Washington on September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
