One person shot by National Park Service officers in Kettle River Campground

A person was shot late Saturday night by one or more National Park Service Rangers who stopped to investigate a noise complaint in the Kettle River Campground, according to the Washington State Patrol. The suspect was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane and is listed in satisfactory condition, a news release said. Another suspect was taken into custody and booked into Spokane County Jail. The shooting took place about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the campground located in the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area in Ferry County. No other details were released by the WSP, which is investigating. The Kettle River Campground was closed while detectives investigated the incident, but has reopened, said WSP Trooper Jeff Sevigney.
