Williams leads Tigers

Chloe Williams had two goals and an assist to lead Lewis and Clark to a 5-1 Greater Spokane League girls soccer win at Ferris on Monday.

Lauren Miller gave the Saxons a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, but Williams scored three minutes later and the Tigers held the Saxons at bay the rest of the way. Sarah Curran and Jacqueline Hamby each had a goal and an assist for LC.

Men’s soccer

Ryan Caballero, Gonzaga’s senior goalkeeper who posted his third straight road shutout, and eighth career shutout, 2-0 at UNLV, is the West Coast Conference men’s soccer Player of the Week.

Caballero hasn’t allowed a goal in nearly 314 minutes as GU (3-1) is off to its best start since 2003.
