The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was continuing a search for Anthony R. Vasquez, 23, a suspect in the shooting death of a man found dead in a Moses Lake convenience store parking lot Tuesday night.

Authorities identified the shooting victim as Juan Jesus Garcia, 22, of Moses Lake. A 23-year-old woman and six-year-old boy were also in the car when Garcia was shot, but were not injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Vasquez is described as around 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He fled the scene, along Patton Boulevard, in a vehicle that was later found empty. Vasquez was wearing white shorts, a white tank top and a white and black baseball cap.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about Vasquez’s whereabouts to call 911 or email tips to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us. Vasquez is considered armed and dangerous.
