Grant County detectives made one arrest in a fatal shooting Tuesday night in Moses Lake. Detectives arrested Alejandro N. “Alex” Monzo, 18, according to a news release. He drove the vehicle in which Anthony J. Vasquez, 23, escaped from the shooting scene, the Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities say Vasquez shot Juan Jesus Garcia, 22, who died outside a convenience store on Patton Boulevard on Tuesday night. A 23-year-old woman and 6-year-old boy were in the car when Garcia was shot, but were not injured. Vasquez and Monzo were last seen speeding away from the scene on Patton. The vehicle was later located empty, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Police are still searching for Vasquez. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information should call (509) 762-1160 or send information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us.
