Age 87

JANSEN, Doris Lavinia Doris Jansen was born December 29, 1925 in Lacrosse, Washington to Mark and Velma Camp.

She attended school in Lacrosse through her junior year of high school.

The family then moved to Spokane where she graduated from Lewis and Clark High School.

She met and married her husband Shirk Jansen on November 9, 1946.

She began working as a bookkeeper at Old National Bank and then for many years worked side by side with her mother cooking at the Masonic Temple for all gatherings.

She later began working at West Valley High School in the kitchen.

They were both very active in the El Katif Shrine with Doris volunteering at the Shriner’s Hospital a number of years.

They traveled to numerous worldwide locations.

They both volunteered multiple years in the “elephant ear booth” at the Spokane Interstate Fair.

Doris’ greatest joy was cooking for others.

Pecan and Peanut Butter pies were specialties.
