Obituary: Lovas, Michael Phillip
Michael is survived by wife Pam Holloway; son David Marx and wife Liz; granddaughter Sarah Marx; parents John and Harriet Lovas; sisters Christine Anderson, and Leslie O’neal and husband Steve; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam era and had a passion for helping veterans.
He was a key member of the Spokane Veteran’s Forum and mentored veterans coming through the Veteran’s Court.
He was active in the Patriot Guard Riders and served as the first Northeast Washington District Captain of the Washington State Patriot Guard Riders.
He organized and facilitated a number of charity events to raise money for veterans’ causes and spoke regularly to raise awareness of veterans’ issues.
Michael was a published author and nationally recognized public speaker.
He and wife Pam co-authored a number of books and led a consulting business together.
Michael also had a deep love for music and was a professional drummer for many years.
He played locally in Spokane with various bands.
Services will be held September 25, 2013 with Committal at 3:00 PM at Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:30 PM at the Center Place Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, WA.
