Cool, wet start to fall in Washington

Snow expected at higher elevations

SEATTLE — The National Weather Service says the cool, wet start to fall will continue into midweek in Washington. Forecasters expect drier weather on Thursday. The Weather Service says the snow level in the mountains has dropped below 7,000 feet. Forecasters expect up to six inches of snow at the higher elevations.
