Two dead following head-on accident Tuesday

A man and woman from Rathdrum died Tuesday afternoon following a head-on accident in Otis Orchards. James Arthur Jemison, 76, and Donette Lee Jemison, 57, were declared dead at the scene after their GMC Yukon hit a Peterbilt semi head-on, a news release from the Washington State Patrol said. James Jemison was driving east on Trent Road shortly before 4 p.m. when his 2005 Yukon drifted across the centerline at Starr Road, the WSP said. The Yukon hit a westbound 1993 Peterbilt tractor driven by Gregory Russell Malloy, 52, of Otis Orchards. All parties were wearing seat belts. Malloy was not injured. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor. No charges are anticipated, the WSP said.
