Obituary: Ferguson, Calvin L.

Age 75

FERGUSON, Calvin L. (Age 75) Calvin L. Ferguson, 75, of Spokane, Washington, peacefully went to be with his Savior on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Hospice House of Spokane.

Calvin, born in Superior, NE to Myron Ferguson and Thelma (Stuck) Ferguson on April 18, 1938.

He moved to Colorado with his family in 1948 and graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1956.

Calvin was the proud father of his daughter Christine A. Ferguson of Vancouver, WA and his son J. Kevin Ferguson and wife Beth (Schermer) of Grandville, MI.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Janice (Moe) Ferguson; by his sisters Linda Ferguson-Cox and Jacqueline (Ferguson) Gallatin-Barton of Aurora, CO; as well as his many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and other dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Thelma Ferguson and sister, Cheryl Ferguson.

Calvin was a patriotic man who served his country in the U.S. Army.

He graduated from Colorado University in 1967 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

He worked as a Civil Engineer for the City of Denver, CO; was a Vice President for Hallmark & Associates, Inc. in Denver, CO; and retired from the Department of Ecology for the State of WA in 2004.

A favorite saying of Calvin’s was, “Never, but Never Question the Engineer’s Judgement.”

In his spare time he was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed fishing, wood-working, watching western movies, and Civil War documentaries.

The family will celebrate his life with a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Audubon Park United Methodist Church; 3908 N Driscoll Blvd, Spokane, WA 99205.
