Gonzaga University has named Brenda Stevenson Marshall as the inaugural dean of the School of Nursing and Human Physiology. Marshall previously served as a professor of public health, special assistant to the provost for health sciences, and as the founding dean of the School of Health Sciences at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Gonzaga has also named Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak as the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Mermann-Jozwiak was previously the Haas Professor of English and associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi.

Finance

Mary Charbonneau, the senior branch office administrator at the Rock Pointe Edward Jones office, has been appointed to the Branch Office Administrators’ Grassroots Legislative Task Force. The task force discusses investment-related issues with lawmakers. Charbonneau has been with firm for 18 years.

The Spokane Estate Planning Council has elected the officers for the 2013-14 program year as follows: Theresa Rodgers, of US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, membership chair; and Stephanie Taylor of Randall| Danskin, PS, program chair.

Chad Burchard has been hired by Sterling Bank as commercial banking team leader for the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area. Burchard has 20 years of experience in banking and was previously vice president of commercial banking with Inland Northwest Bank. He is a founder and current board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Spokane County.

Inland Northwest Bank has promoted Ryan Lee to vice president/commercial loan officer at the downtown Spokane branch. Lee has been with INB for one year and worked previously at Banner Bank.

Government

Arlene Fisher has been given the Award for Excellence by the Washington City/County Management Association. Fisher has been city administrator of the city of Cheney since 2008. Previously, she was director of finance and administration and city clerk for the city of Liberty Lake.

Health care

David Cox has been named chief executive officer of the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest, set to open in Post Falls this December. Cox has 20 years of experience in the health care field including: operations, resource utilization, program development, finance and marketing. Previously, he coordinated the outpatient programs for a local rehabilitation hospital. He is certified with the National Board of Occupational Therapy.

Erika Moeller has joined Embassy Management LLC as a financial analyst. Previously, Moeller was a resource accounting analyst for Avista.

Nonprofit

Spokane Home Builders Association has named Nichole Kerns as marketing and communication director. Kerns has more than 10 years of experience in communications, marketing and event coordination. She is also a member of the Spokane Regional MarCom Association and worked previously as marketing administrator for Allied Fire & Security.

Katie Luna has been appointed executive director of Festival Dance & Performing Arts, a nonprofit in residence at the University of Idaho. Luna has four years of experience working with nonprofits and previously served as executive assistant.

Dianne Cromwell has joined Keller Williams Realty Spokane.
