Obituary: Pedersen, Darin Richard

PEDERSEN, Darin Richard 5/14/1974 - 9/14/2013 Darin was born in Spokane, WA and graduated from Mead High School in 1993.

During that time, Darin earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He graduated from Washington State University in 1998 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

In 2007 Darin received a MBA from Gonzaga University.

After graduation, Darin went to work for Atwood Hinzman Jones in Boise, ID.

While there, he became a licensed professional engineer.

He later went to work for Integrus Architecure in Spokane as a structural engineer.

His work there included the structural design of three U.S Embassies in West Africa.

Darin then went to work for B.L.

Harbert in Birmingham, AL and was the Project Engineer in Lome, Togo for the contruction of the U.S. Embassy.

After taking a year off to earn his MBA, Darin returned to B.L.

Harbert and was promoted to Project Manager.

In that role, he was responsible for the construction of the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan.

He also brought closure to U.S. State Dept.

projects in Madagascar and Karachi, Pakistan.

At the time of his death, Darin was one of four Project Managers responsible for the construction of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.Darin found the love of his life when he met April Cooper from Lewiston, ID.

After a “storybook” engagement in New Zealand, Darin and April married on July 7, 2012 in Asotin, WA.

They were able to share the miracle of birth on April 28, 2013 when their son Owen was born.

Darin is survived by his wife April, son Owen Jack, parents Bob and Pat Pedersen, sister Alisa (Greg) Vaughn, nephew Gregory Vaughn, neices Lauren and Megan Vaughn, special aunt Laura Turner, grandfather Jack Pedersen as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.A Rosary service will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish, 3720 E Colbert Rd, Colbert, WA on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr.

Tim Hays at St Josephs at 11 a.m. on Oct 4 with a luncheon to follow.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane.
