Obituary: Vancamp, Richard D.

Age 71

VanCamp, Richard D. Of Sun City West, AZ, passed away on September 4, 2013.

Born October 13, 1941, in Mason City, WA to Robert and Bonnie VanCamp.

Richard is survived by wife, Kaylynn (Kay); son, Daniel, Stanwood, WA; sister, Carol Ann, Spokane, WA; and brother Vernon and wife, Karen, Yakima, WA.

He was preceded in death by son, Robert.

Richard served in Germany with the U. S. Army.

He worked for the State of Washington as a Driver’s License Examiner and with Labor and Industries.

He retired from Tri-State Construction, Bellevue, WA, where he worked as a Safety Manager.

Richard graduated from North Central High School in Spokane in 1959 and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from City College in 1977.

Richard completed two Marathons (Seattle and Vancouver, B.C.)

and participated in many 5- and 10-K runs.

He enjoyed bowling, dancing and playing tennis; but, he LOVED golf.

After retirement in 2000, he was able to devote his time and energy to improving his golf game.

No service was held.

Cremation was handled by Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center, Sun City West, AZ.
