Obituary: Anderson, Dan Louis

Age 67

ANDERSON, Dan Louis “Diaper Dan” August 31, 1946- March 26, 2014 Dan was born on August 31, 1946 in Portland, Oregon to Roscoe and Clara (Haak) Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings James, Ross, Gene, Ken, Josephine and Sandra.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; and siblings, Robert (Priest at The Grotto, Portland, Oregon), Paul, Palm Springs, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan graduated From Central Catholic High School in Portland.

He enlisted in the US Air Force and served for four years, which included two tours in Vietnam.

He married Helen J. Schubert in June of 1976 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Portland, Oregon.

They owned Babyland Diaper Service in Spokane until February 2013, at which time it was sold due to health issues.

Dan and Helen had no children of their own but he was so loved by all the neighborhood children and the 65-75 Foreign Exchange students that shared their home over the years.

Dan loved all sports but he favored snow skiing, tennis, biking, and all water sports.

He truly will be missed by oh so many.

Dan was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Spokane, WA.

Rosary will be said at 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 3520 E. 18th Ave., Spokane.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at St. Peter’s, followed by a reception.

The family requests no flowers.
