Searchers looking for body of Ephrata man in canal

Associated Press
EPHRATA, Wash. — Grant County authorities are searching a canal south of Coulee City for the body of an Ephrata man who presumably died in a crash into the water while he was out fishing with his three sons. Witnesses reported seeing Scott Kolves get out of his pickup truck with his three sons Sunday afternoon as it flipped in the fast-moving water. Nearby fishermen pulled his 10- and 12-year-old sons out of the water. The body of 8-year-old Korey Kolves was found about an hour later five miles downstream and he could not be revived. iFIBER One News reports the 45-year-old Kolves worked as a security guard at Ephrata High School and also worked with special needs children.
