Obituary: Cook, Ruth C.

COOK, Ruth C. (Age 101) A lifelong Colfax, WA resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Whitman Health & Rehabilitation Center in Colfax.

Ruth was born May 29, 1912 in Colfax to William and Eva (Reiger) Kramlich.

She grew up and attended Colfax schools, graduating from Colfax High School.

She met Alex Cook and they were married on September 21, 1932 in Colfax.

They made Colfax their home where Ruth was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife and mother.

Ruth’s interests included needlework, especially embroidery; gardening and reading.

Her faith and family were of the utmost importance in her life.

Ruth was a lifelong member of the Colfax First Baptist Church and was always active in the women’s groups.

Ruth is survived by her two sons Bob (Vickie) Cook of Colfax; Wayne (Myrna) Cook of Richland, WA; her daughter Shirley Scott (Wesley) of Spokane; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and three brothers.

Viewing will be Thursday and Friday at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax from 10 AM to 4 PM each day.

The memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Colfax First Baptist Church.

Private vault interment will be held at the Colfax Cemetery.
