Obituary: Kilpatrick, Ronald D.

Age 67

KILPATRICK, Ronald D. Passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Spokane, WA surrounded by his family.

Ron was a lifelong resident of Oakesdale, WA.

He was born on December 29, 1946 in Spokane to William and Beverly (Reed) Kilpatrick.

He attended school in Oakesdale, graduating from high school in 1965.

He then attended Bellingham Vocational College in Bellingham, WA, earning a degree in automotive mechanics.

In 1967 he returned to Oakesdale to work on the family farm until retiring in 2007.

He dedicated his summers to 55 years of harvest, with 18 of those years spent with his daughters as truck drivers.

Besides farming, he enjoyed traveling to warm destinations, many times with friends and his sister Debbie.

He also enjoyed spending time at Coeur d’Alene Lake boating and visiting with friends.

Ron loved to dance, and spent many weekends dancing the night away.

Over the years he has enjoyed watching his daughters play sports, fishing and going to car races.

He especially enjoyed visits from his daughters and grandkids.

His family said he had a kind heart, with a humble and friendly demeanor.

Ron loved his Great Dane dogs.

He was a member of Oakesdale Lodge No.

55, F. & A.M.

He was preceded in death by his father Bill Kilpatrick.

He continued to spend time with his mother Bev who lives at her home in Spokane.

Survivors include his four daughters, Karla (Rich) Jaeger of Wilbur, WA, Tanya (Gary) Shrope of Oakesdale, WA, Amber (Clay) Flower of Spokane, WA, and Bridget Eismann of Post Falls, ID; his sister, Debbie (Larry) Ham of Spokane, WA; and 10 beautiful grandchildren, Mason, Dorian, Kylee, Madison, Noah, Hailey, Gavin, Carmen, Olivia, and Matthew; and two nephews, Kyle (Hillary) Ham and Reece (Emily) Ham.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Oakesdale, WA.

Pastor Erik Buhl will officiate at the service.

A reception will follow the service at the Oakesdale Fire Station.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Oakesdale Cemetery.

KRAMER FUNERAL HOME of Tekoa, WA is handling the arrangements.
