YAKIMA – The Transportation Department says traffic on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass will be reduced to a singled lane in each direction 24 hours a day next week (from 9 p.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Friday).
Crews are building detours for the summer construction season on the pass.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reported the restrictions will last three weeks this month but will be eased for heavier weekend traffic. Drivers should expect delays and allow themselves extra time.
The new detours will be used this summer during blasting and construction on a $551 million project to widen and improve I-90 between Hyak and Keechelus Dam. The work should finish in 2018.
