Obituary: Knapp, Constance O.

KNAPP, Constance O.

(McConahey) Passed peacefully March 28, 2014.

Born August 8, 1911 in Spokane, Washington.

She grew up in Spokane and attended Washington State College in Pullman.

She married Wyman C. Knapp on October 6, 1933, and moved to Olympia, Washington.

Shortly thereafter she and Wyman moved to San Francisco, California where Wyman attended Hastings School of Law.

Connie’s first child, Bruce was born in San Francisco.

Later they moved to Burlingame where her second child Judy was born.

In 1945, the family moved to Los Angeles and eventually purchased their home in San Gabriel where they lived until 1977.

Connie and Wyman then moved to an apartment in Alhambra.

Wyman passed away in 1996.

Connie continued to live independently and in December, 2006, she moved to Regent’s Point in Irvine, California.

She was active in Las Hermanas a charity which raised monies for Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, in Chi Omega alumni, in Masonic Wisdom Lodge #202 of Glendale and in Shriner’s Jesterette.

She was a devoted member of Oneonta Congregational Church, South Pasadena.

Her summers were spent boating, fishing and visiting friends and relatives in the Northwest.

Connie enjoyed entertaining and dearly loved her family and had many long-time friends.

She is survived by her son, Bruce and daughter, Judy (Ron) Romines; grandchildren, Ryan Romines and Brie (Peter) Grousbeck; great-grandchildren, Lennon and Charley, and Connnie’s nephew R. Howard (Betty) Johnson and their children.

Connie and Wyman will be interred together at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California.

A letter of memory is being sent to friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles or to a charity of your choice.
