Obituary: Peckham, Susan “Suzie”
PECKHAM, Susan “Suzie” Went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2014. She was born and raised in Spokane, WA., to Marjorie Jean Foster and Alfred Guy McCarty, on February 8, 1948, who preceded her in death. Susan married her first husband and had four children. She is survived by her two eldest children, Daniel Guy Vassar and Karen Sue Vassar-Severns; and preceded in death by her two infant children, Dannelle and Dawnelle Vassar. She married Ronald Peckham in 1973 and had two more children: Mystery Peckham and Ronald Peckham Jr. of Kalispell, MT. Susan was widowed in 1988, and was quite happy living single and admiring all the toy boys of the world. Suzie worked most of her life in the service industry as a bartender, house-keeper, dancer in Las Vegas and Sales Associates at the Military base exchanges at Fairchild AFB and Hanscom AFB in Boston, MA. As an adult, she called Las Vegas, Montana, Alaska, Boston and Spokane home. Suzie was spirited and loved by all who knew her. She loved camping and being with her seven grandchildren: Hannah (Cami) Severns, 21, Joshua Severns, 19, Christopher Sevey, 19, Wakiza Vassar 14, Katie Smith, 14, Nyanti Vassar 10, and Danielle Vassar, 7. Her favorite things were watching TV (Matlock & Murder She Wrote), camping as well as traveling with her grandchildren along the Boston and Maine Coast. A graveside service will be held on Friday April 11, 2014 at 1:00pm at Marshall Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Henshaw officiating and nephew Melvin Vassar sharing a few memories. A family gathering will follow.
