Police arrest suspect in early April shooting

From staff reports
Spokane police arrested a nine-time convicted felon who they believe was the shooter in a dispute that sent a man to the hospital last week. Troy Pasina, 36, was booked into Spokane County Jail on Thursday evening facing charges of first-degree assault with a gun and unlawful possession of a firearm. Investigators think Pasina was involved in a dispute with a man in the 3300 block of East Grace Avenue on April 1. The two fought, then Pasina allegedly fired one shot, according to a news release. The man was taken to Holy Family Hospital, where he was treated. Police said initially the gunshot victim was not cooperating with investigators. Pasina, who has convictions for assault and residential burglary according to the Police Department, was taken into custody without incident at a residence in the 2400 block of North Pittsburg Street yesterday. A gun was found with Pasina, who is barred from owning firearms because of his felony convictions.
