Police: Morning stabbing sends two to hospital

From staff reports
Two men are being questioned in the hospital for an alleged fight that sent police and paramedics to the Centennial Trail on Monday morning after reports of a stabbing. Police received reports of a stabbing near the intersection of North Division Street and East Spokane Falls Boulevard around 10:15 a.m., according to a news release. They found a man there who said he sustained stab wounds in a fight with another man, who had fled, investigators said. That man was taken to the hospital. About fifteen minutes after the first call, dispatchers reported another man with stab wounds near the Centennial Trail and Gonzaga University soccer fields. Scanner traffic reported that man was contacted near the banks of the Spokane River, where he was reportedly attempting to wash blood off himself. That man was also taken to the hospital with stab wounds. Investigators believe the second man was the other person involved in the fight at Spokane Falls and Division. Detectives are questioning the two men, who are receiving medical treatment. There are no outstanding suspects in the incident at this time, police said.
