Miley Cyrus hospitalized for allergic reaction

From Wire Reports

Miley Cyrus is in the hospital and unable to perform her “Bangerz” concert in Kansas City, Mo., as planned.

A spokeswoman for the singer said the 21-year-old canceled her performance Tuesday after she was hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics. Publicist Meghan Prophet said in a statement that Cyrus is on “medical rest” at her doctors’ advice.

Cyrus said on Twitter that she’s heartbroken to miss the show. She also posted a photo of herself wearing what appears to be a hospital gown.

Howard grads to hear from Combs

Entertainer and entrepreneur Sean Combs will deliver Howard University’s commencement speech this year in Washington. The school announced Tuesday that Combs will be among five people who will receive honorary degrees as trailblazers in their fields.

Combs was a Howard student in the late 1980s. He will receive an honorary doctorate in the humanities. He went on to create his Puff Daddy persona and built his own business and brand. Last year he launched an all-music TV channel, Revolt, aiming to create the ESPN of music. It airs in about 20 million U.S. homes.

The university also will honor CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer, transplant surgeon Clive Callender, jazz legend Benny Golson and PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi.

Strahan confirms ‘GMA’ rumors

Michael Strahan made good on reports that he’s joining “Good Morning America” by paying a visit to the ABC breakfast show on Tuesday.

The former football star and current co-host with Kelly Ripa of “Live With Kelly and Michael” got a red-carpet welcome from the “GMA” team. Anchor Robin Roberts expressed excitement that Strahan will be there “a couple of days a week.” Then the cast presented him with an alarm clock and a huge coffee cup. His brief appearance ended with promises he’ll be back next week.

Strahan joins Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Amy Robach, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee on television’s top-rated morning show. Unconfirmed reports of Strahan’s new part-time gig surfaced early this month. He has said this side job won’t affect his daily duties hosting “Live.”
